SHOWJUMPER Jessica Mendoza capped off a first call-up to the Nations Cup team of Great Britain with a superb performance in St Gallen Grand Prix.
The Tockenham rider and her horse Spirit T posted a clear in their first round but two unlucky rails proved insufficient to secure the Wiltshire rising star, 19, a podium finish.
However, on Sunday, the pair managed to serve up two flawless rounds in Switzerland, bringing them just off the podium again in fourth at the first CSIO (Concours de Saut International) GP.
In the 1.50m class, Ramiro de Belle Vue placed seventh.
It was double joy for Mendoza this week after she was announced in five-strong Great Britain squad that will be competing in the fifth leg of this year’s Europe Division One CSIO 5* Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup competition.
It will be the second of the series in which GB will be competing for qualifying points for September's final and Di Lampard, show jumping performance manager, has included the Tockenham ace alongside Ben Maher, Michael Whitaker, Joe Clee and Guy Williams.
The competition at Rotterdam will commence on Thursday, June 18, with the Nations Cup scheduled to take place on Friday 19th June at 4pm local time.
The Grand Prix will then take place on the final day of competition on June 21.
