WILTSHIRE showjumper Jessica Mendoza has climbed into the top 100 of the Longines World Rankings after sweeping the board at this week’s Toscana Tour in Arezzo, Italy.

The Tockenham teenager, who is basing herself in Holland, is up to 97 after superb performances recently.

In Italy, riding E.A.R.L. Chateaux Bacon’s bay gelding Sam de Bacon, the combination produced a double clear jumping round in the 1.45m class with a jump-off time of 40.04 seconds to see off competition by 1.27 seconds from runner up Ferenc Szentirmai of the Ukraine.

The UK Sport National Lottery funded World Class Development Programme rider also took first place in the Silver Tour 1.35m Against the Clock class, where a clear jumping round in a time of 57.28 seconds secured the win on her mother Sarah's bay mare Classic Highfly.

She then took the top prize in the Gold Tour 1.40m class, riding the 14 year old stallion Ramiro de Belle Vue, also owned by her mother. The pair finished with a double clear jumping round and a jump-off time of 27.20 seconds.

The Gold Tour 1.40m class also proved fruitful for the Junior European team gold and individual bronze medallist.

After posting a double clear jumping round with a jump-off time of 26.31 seconds, she took another top spot, this time with her mother’s Nuggets l’Amandour.

Mendoza took the win by 2.7 seconds over fellow Brit Leah McCrady on Ms Sally Lane’s grey stallion Vitaal G.
