AMELIA Glass will be hoping to take her pony racing form into point-to-point competition later this year.

The 15-year-old from Foxham has enjoyed a fine year with her pony Igo Zuminov racing all over the country including Newbury and Cheltenham.

And now that the season is at an end and Sheldon School pupil is too old to remain in pony racing, Amelia is set to make the step up in December.

Mum Camilla said: “Amelia has always wanted to do pony racing and this year we allowed her to give it a try.

“She loved it from the start and she made the Charles Owen Racing finals at Newbury recently where the top 12 riders compete.

“Amelia finished eighth, she also won a scholarship for the most improved, dedication and hard work throughout the season.

“She won a bursary for training as well as a Charles Owen riding hat.”
