MARK Collier is not fussy about how Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division title glory is achieved as long as the destination of the trophy is confirmed as Chippenham Town on Easter weekend.

The brilliant Bluebirds could have their stunning league success rubber-stamped without kicking a ball, if nearest rivals Leamington fail to beat Biggleswade Town in their Good Friday encounter.

That would make Chippenham's home appointment with St Neots Town 24 hours later a day of celebration at a sure-to-be-packed Hardenhuish Park, with the silverware and prized ticket to the National League all wrapped up before kick-off.

Boss Collier, whose side extended their astonishing unbeaten run to 23 games with a 3-1 win at third-placed Hitchin Town on Saturday, is untroubled by either scenario, unsurprising given his side's sparkling end to the season.

"Whether we have to win it without playing a game or have to run out at a packed Hardenhuish Park and put on a show there, we don't mind,'' said the manager, whose side require just two points for glory to be sealed.

"We just want to get it done as soon as we can. To be top with three games to go is exactly where we want to be and the ball is in our court.

"We talked about there being no pressure but there is pressure and to go 23 games unbeaten in this division is incredible.

"I've spoken to a lot of managers in the league and they are full of admiration for the run that we have been on. To have 97 points and not won the league yet, just shows the standards.

"It's been outstanding. To win 15 out of the last 16 matches on the spin and to need just two more points to make it safe is a fantastic place to be.''

Nuno Felix opened the scoring at Hitchin before Rhys Baggridge bagged his second goal for the club - a week after breaking his duck.

Hitchin reduced arrears with a penalty through Will Wright just before half-time, but Will Richards capped another remarkable away performance with a magnificent overhead kick to seal the points just before the hour mark.

Collier added: "It's a difficult place to come but to score three goals and win as comfortably as we did is of great credit to the players.

"It (the unbeaten run) has been growing and growing. When it got to 10 we said 'can we make it 11 or 12 and it went from there.

"I don't think anybody can quite believe it.''
