CHIPPENHAM Town manager Mark Collier has mixed feelings after his side drew 1-1 with King’s Langley on Saturday.

Collier was happy his side came away from the game with a point but was also frustrated they were unable to claim all three.

He said: “Credit has to go to them for their defensive qualities. We certainly aren’t down about our performances there are plenty of positives.

“We are now up and running and on our way in what we know is an unforgiving division.

“We are disappointed we didn’t take away three points because we had so much of the ball and we were constantly on the attack.

“But you don’t always get what you deserve. I think they will think they got what they deserve because they came for that.

“We are always disappointed not to win a game, but sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture.”

Chippenham Town conceded on the stroke of half-time when Conor McCormack let his man sneak around to the back post and head the ball into the net.

“At this level, you can’t make mistakes. Conor McCormack held his hand up to say he made a mistake but we win together and we lose together,” said Collier Andy Sandell drew the home side level when he slotted the ball home left-footed after beating two defenders, but sadly the Bluebirds were unable to find the winning goal as it finished 1-1.

Despite the result, the Chippenham chief believes there are many positives to take away from the stalemate.

He said: “Our fitness levels were absolutely outstanding. No disrespect to them; they had lads going down with cramp.

“We had a strong bench. We put two of the subs on and they came up with good performances, so we know we have strength in depth.

“We were more than comfortable in possession. We have to work our socks off for every point in this division and that is what we did.”

Chippenham Town now have a quick turnaround as they prepare to face Weymouth on Tuesday night in the Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division.
