CHIPPENHAM Town staged a remarkable comeback to maintain their slim chances of the play-offs.

After going 2-0 down two minutes into the second half they scored two goals in a minute before hitting the winning goal a quarter of an hour from time.

Biggleswade opened the scoring when the unmarked Craig Daniel was able to meet a low cross and drill a shot past Kent Kauppinen.

Chippenham had three good chances to draw level before the break, Ben Whitehead, who had replaced the suspended Andy Sandell, first saw Ian Brown produce a good save to thwart his shot on the turn.

A similar effort from the young striker was then deflected behind.

Brown also did well to block a shot from out wide from Alex Ferguson, whilst at the other end Conner Vincent shot into the side netting.

Centre back Gavin Hoyte doubled the advantage when he headed home from a left wing corner.

On 52 minutes Harry Grant's cross saw Alan Griffin's shot on the turn saved by Brown whilst five minutes later a Griffin header following a Chris Allen corner was just too high.

The Bluebirds then made a triple substitution on 57 minutes that changed the course of the game.

Ten minutes later the Bluebirds pulled a goal back thanks to two of those changes. Brown could not hold Matt Jones's shot and Alec Fiddes followed in to score.

A minute later Chippenham broke and Matt Smith fired a 25-yard shot across Brown for the equaliser.

It was almost three in three as Jones shot against a post as a reinvigorated Chippenham continued to panic their visitors.

The winning goal came on 76 minutes as a third substitute Oli Taylor knocked the ball into the path of Jones who made no mistake from close in.

Three minutes later Fiddes shot just past a post, whilst Biggleswade almost rescued a point in the 90th minute as substitute Michael King hammered a shot against a post.
