CHIPPENHAM Town boss Mark Collier admits his side need a spark to reignite their Premier Division promotion challenge after a late winner from Cirencester Town stretched the Bluebirds' run without a win to a sixth match this afternoon.

Town, who lost a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at play-off rivals Leamington on Saturday, were stunned in injury time of their clash at Hardenhuish Park as Adam Connolly netted the only goal of the game.

Collier offered no excuses for his side's "poor'' performance afterwards and added: "We need to snap out of this as quickly as we can because we are not in good form.

"Everyone needs to look at themselves and that includes me as well as the players.''

The manager added: "We were poor all around. Their keeper has made one good save in the first half but other than that we were devoid of ideas and it was an inept performance.''

The result dropped Chippenham out of the play-off positions as thei slump in form coincides with a crucial moment of the campaign.

The Bluebirds, who go to mid-table Slough on Saturday, now have to pick up as many points as possible from their final five matches, while hoping play-off rivals - many of whom have games in hand, slip up.

Collier added: "We were just so of it and we didn't look like a top six side, we looked like a bottom six side.

"There's no getting away from it, we are not in great form - there is no disguising that fact.

"I thought that on the back of Saturday we might be able to keep a good tempo and energy up but it just didn't work out.

"We need a spark from somewhere. One of the lads said afterwards ' there are 15 points to play for now and we have just got to pick up as many of them as we can.''
