CHIPPENHAM Town deservedly came away from Buckinghamshire with all three points after a double from Charlie Griffin, his third brace in four games, and a late goal from Ashan Holgate.

Chesham had the advantage of the slope and wind in the opening half but could not find a way past the Bluebirds defence, despite creating several good chances.

Nick Beasant, the son of Wimbledon's legendary keeper Dave, failed to direct a header on goal whilst also heading wide from inside the six-yard-box.

Kent Kauppinen did well to beat out a shot from Dave Pearce although he did allow a Michael Bell free-kick to slip through his fingers. with Liam Malone hitting the loose ball into the side netting.

Chippenham's only chance of the half fell to Griffin. who headed a James Guthrie cross over the bar.

Griffin made amends four minutes after the break when he fastened on to Kauppinen's wind-assisted goal kick to lob the ball over Shane Gore.

Three minutes later, good work from Ashan Holgate saw Gore fail to deal with a cross from the right and Griffin volleyed home his second.

On 65 minute,s Griffin headed the ball into the path of Holgate but he flashed a shot wide of a post.

But three minutes from time, Holgate and substitute Luke Ballinger combined but Jordan Roberts fired over the bar.

In the first minute of stoppage time, Ballinger's deep cross saw Holgate stretch to turn the ball home to complete the scoring.
