MIDFIELDER Michael Pook could return to the Chippenham Town squad for Tuesday’s lengthy trip to Truro City.

Pook missed Saturday’s 1-0 win at high-flying Weymouth but Bluebirds boss Mark Collier is hopeful that the former Swindon Town man will shake off a groin problem in time to travel to Cornwall.

Defenders Jon Beeden and Mark Preece also picked up knocks on the weekend but should both be fit for tomorrow’s clash with the White Tigers.

“Michael Pook might be a bit closer to coming back. He has a groin strain and a little rest on Saturday may have done him some good,” said Collier.

“Jon Beeden came off at half-time with a reoccurrence of a back injury and there was a tight hamstring for Mark Preece but we are hoping both of them will be ok.

“We will possibly be the same squad that travelled to Weymouth that will travel to Truro on Tuesday.

“We haven’t picked the same team two games on the trot since, I think, the second or third game of the season.

“Ideally, every manager wants a bit of consistency in their selection and we haven’t had that. But hopefully between now and the end of the season, we will get it and we’ll move in the right direction.”
