CHIPPENHAM Town are three points worse off in the Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division table after the record of Hereford United was officially expunged from the records today.

The Bluebirds beat the Bulls 2-1 at the end of September, but those three points have now been chalked off following the demise of the Edgar Street club, which was wound up last month.

Chippenham are now in 14th position on 29 points.

The expunging of Hereford's record has, however, benefited Frome Town, rendering November's 3-1 home defeat as void and lifting them to 19th in the table.

A league statement said today: "Following the winding up of Hereford United (1939) Ltd in the High Court on 19 December and confirmation received by the League that no legal processes to appeal the order will be forthcoming, the Board of Directors has unanimously agreed that the Club’s playing record for the current season is expunged with immediate effect. The Premier Division table has been adjusted accordingly.

"Any further matters relating to Hereford United (1939) Ltd will be dealt with by the Office of the Official Receiver.''
