Tiny Tom ready to become youngest men's cricketer
Cricket: Tom Alsop is set to be come the youngest player in the Wiltshire County League when he makes his debut for Potterne 3rd this Saturday -aged just 12.
The all-rounder, from Rowde, took three wickets and scored 46 runs in a men's warm-up game for Bishops Cannings against Kennet Valley.
Tom, whose 15-year-old brother Owen also plays for Potterne, is not fazed ahead the Division Seven trip to Box 2nd this Saturday.
The Lavington School pupil said: "I've been playing men's cricket for the past two seasons for Bishops Cannings in friendlies, so I'm really looking forward to it.
"I'm probably the youngest player in the league but I find it quite easy playing against men.
"My brother Owen bowls quickly at me when we play together so I'm used to facing fast bowling."
Proud mum Gaynor added: "Tom is really talented. I don't get scared watching him play against men because he's been doing it for years."
