Cricket: Calne CC won their first game of the season against the newly promoted KC club.

The KC club were batting first and got off to a slow but steady start with the two openers putting on 25 before Stu Whitty struck and took them both in the same over.

The highlight of the innings was J.Goows who was a eventually dismissed for 74 by Calne skipper Chris Downham and following that a flurry of wickets came through Windsor 3-39 and Downham taking another.

The lower order managed to make a big contribution with Hussain making 49 before being bowled by Barry Garland.

The KC club eventually finished on 220 which everyone thought would be a very competitve total.

Calne lost an early wicket before rebuilding well with a 112 partnership between Steve Richards and Charlie moss who has returned from Australia recently.

Charlie Moss eventually went on to reach 80 before being dismissed by webber and with Richards making 45 and then being bowled by Ali.

A late contribution from Garland and Whitty saw Calne home to the first win of the season.
