SKIPPER Joe Breet has heaped praise on Wiltshire coach Dale Bowler after the county side broke a winless run in the Minor Counties Championship stretching back three years.

Corsham bowler Ashur Morrison claimed an 11-wicket haul in the match, while Breet hit a first-innings century to guide the visitors to a seven-wicket triumph over Wales at Pontarddulais.

It was Wiltshire’s first Championship win since they beat Herefordshire at home by 133 runs in July 2009 – and the first away win since August 2007, when they also defeated Herefordshire by nine wickets.

Bowler has overseen a vast improvement in the county’s fortunes this summer – Wiltshire have also reached next month’s MCCA Trophy final.

Breet, whose men claimed just one draw from five Championship matches in 2011, said: “Dale has worked wonders and the improvement in us from last season is there for everybody to see.’’

“The workrate has been really good from everyone – on and off the field. We’ve got a good team spirit and good management.’’

Corsham’s Toby Davies made a first-innings 66 on his debut, while Morrison took 6-24 in 14 overs in Wales’ second innings as Wiltshire dominated.
