Jim Gatting will trial with Wiltshire
WILTSHIRE will boast a famous name among their ranks when they begin their summer campaign on Monday.
The county side are handing a trial to Middlesex Premier League player Jim Gatting – the son of former England captain Mike – as they launch their season in Bournemouth.
All-rounder Gatting and Nukesh Bhatt, also from the Middlesex League, will feature as the county take on old rivals Dorset at Dean Court in a 50-over friendly encounter (11am).
Westbury captain Joe Breet again leads the county, with a similar side to that which featured last summer.
Last year’s vice captain Tom Morton will be unavailable this season through work commitments.
Goatacre batsman Ed Kilbee and Corsham’s Tom Bowler, wicketkeeper Steve Bullen and Ashur Morrison all feature in the line-up.
Wiltshire launch their MCCA Trophy campaign at home to Shropshire at Trowbridge on April 29.
Wiltshire v Dorset: Joe Breet (Westbury, captain), Tahir Afridi (Watford), Owen Alsop (South Wilts), Mukesh Bhatt (Stanmore), Tom Bowler (Corsham), Steve Bullen (Corsham, wicketkeeper), Jim Gatting (Winchmore Hill), Ed Kilbee (Goatacre), Henry Langford (Brockhampton), Jayden Levitt (Bromsgrove), Ashur Morrison (Corsham), Paul Robbins (Keynsham).
