COLLINGBOURNE Cricket Club held its annual presentation dinner and dance at Collingbourne Ducis village hall.
The highlight of the presentations was the special award and standing ovation for Roy Chandler, who served the club continuously over a 26-year period as both chairman and president.
He was presented with a club sweater carrying a personalised motif acknowledging his services to the club.
The awards were hosted by club secretary Karl Rogers, after one of the club’s best-ever seasons.
The first XI finished as champions of Wiltshire League Division Three as the second string retained their status is Division Five.
In addition the club also enjoyed success in the Savernake Wednesday evening league and enjoyed a series of Sunday friendlies, one of which was against Ken Isherwood’s Club Captain’s XI, raising £250 for McMillan Cancer Relief.
A second special award was also made to Tom Grant to acknowledge his feat of recording the highest aggregate number of runs in Wiltshire League Division Three.
Grant scored scoring 653 runs for the Saturday first XI (plus 120 for the second team in the first match of the season).
Nineteen-year-old Grant will also receive a formal certificate from the Wiltshire League.
The club is now looking forward to its 27th season, one of the highlights being the 25th consecutive five-match tour to south east Devon at the beginning of June.
Collingbourne welcome new playing members. Contact club secretary Rogers on 01264 850272.
