THE county boys U11s were in action last Tuesday, playing Gwent at Calne CC.

Bowling first, Wiltshire dismissed Gwent for just 129 with Freddie Higton and Cai Pearson both taking two wickets.

Wiltshire’s chase was then formed by contributions from most of the top order as six batsmen reached double figures but nobody went past 22.

In the end, they reached their target for the loss of six wickets with Higton finishing on 22 not out, the U11s third straight win There was also a win for the boys U12s last Wednesday as they played Dorset at Swindon CC.

Batting first, Wiltshire posted a competitive 246-6 from 40 overs thanks in large to Ben Howgrave-Graham (73) and William Green (52 not out).

Defending their total, the bowlers took eight wickets which meant Dorset finished 17 runs short. Pick of the attack was Ethan Teale with 3-38.

Sunday saw the boys U15s in action on the Isle of Wight. Batting first, Wiltshire posted 235-9 with Ed Wade scoring 73. In reply, the Isle were dismissed for just 44 with Jayden Atkinson, Alex Christopher, Jack Humphreys and Will Fletcher sharing the wickets.

The boys U13s were also in action on Sunday as they played Dorset, who batted first but were bowled out for 132. Wiltshire reached the total for the loss of just four wickets.

The girls U15s played Cornwall on Sunday, dismissing them for 134 with Mille Lang, Katie Dolman, Poppy Sladen and Lily Day all taking two wickets. However, Wiltshire could only manage 102 all out in reply, Day top scoring on 22.

The women were in T20 action on Sunday, against both Gloucestershire and Cornwall, the former fixture ending in defeat as Gloucestershire chased down Wiltshire’s 58-6 in just six overs.

Katherine Mills top scored for Wiltshire with 21.

Cornwall batted first and scored 115-3 and in reply Wiltshire fell short by 24 runs, with scores of 32 not out for Mills and 43 not out for Freya Bollen
