BEANACRE & Melksham succeeded in getting their Division Two match against Beehive on, following the devastating fire that destroyed their pavilion the previous weekend, but went unrewarded on the field as Beehive secured a 59-run victory on Saturday.

The hosts won the toss and asked Beehive to bat, Mike Reeves (34) and Mike Spong sharing a 75-run third-wicket stand.

Two quick wickets left the visitors on 108-5 after 27 overs before Gary Collins (38) helped Beehive to 201-8 at the close.

Tom Watling and Jack Footner picked up three wickets apiece for Beanacre.

The reply got off to a shaky start for the hosts, with only Chris Singh (48) and Paul Drew (21), who was playing his first game for four years after injury, getting starts but unable to continue as the Beehive bowlers, with Gareth Lapham the pick with 3-15, kept a tight line as they dismissed Beanacre for 142.

Swindon United Churches crashed to a seven-wicket defeat at Bradford on Avon.

The visitors never recovered from being 0-3 as Jimmy Mann and Chris Gilchrist fell to Mishak Belfon (4-18) before Matt Runkel played Paul Vooght (2-28) onto his own stumps.

Liam Brooks (23) helped start the recovery for United Churches before wicketkeeper Martin Garstang struck an unbeaten half-century to help them to 139 all out.

Bradford made light work of the chase, getting home in the 26th over with seven wickets in hand after a 109-run opening stand from Ian Pinchin (75) and Matt Goodall (30).

Devastating bowling from Swindon Nalgo helped them to a 187-run success over Warminster 2nd.

Having posted 273-5 from their 45 overs in testing conditions thanks to the overcast skies, with Imran Dastigar (79no) and Sandeep Bilwalkar (51) top-scoring, they only needed a little more than 22 overs to secure victory.

Prashant Joshi was the chief destroyer with 4-34, while Latif Hussain picked up 3-19 and Sarfaraz Khan claimed 2-7 to skittle Warminster for 86 from 22.2 overs.

Division One

DANIEL Baker’s century for Swindon 2nd helped the County Ground men chase down a revised target with ease in their match at Beckington.

The hosts posted 252-7, with Daniel Guildford hitting 90 and Harry Cheal 65, while Andy Mildenhall was the pick of the Swindon attack with 4-40 from seven overs.

After a rain break, the visitors were set a target of 219 from 39 overs.

Baker’s 103, along with Paul Davies’ 37 helped Swindon home with 13 balls and four wickets to spare.

Bear Flat replaced Royal Wootton Bassett, who saw their clash with Lacock rained off, at the summit after they beat Hinton Charterhouse by 58 runs.

Division Three

COLLINGBOURNE, who scored 228 all out, were unable to prevent table-topping Bath Hospital increase their lead at the top of the table as they were beaten by seven wickets.

Meanwhile, Potterne 3rd defeated Heytesbury & Sutton Veny by 140 runs and Swindon A picked up a two-wicket win over Seagry.

Division Four

GOATACRE 2nd lost their 100 per cent record as they went down by five wickets to their Chippenham counterparts.

After a delayed start due to the morning rain, Goatacre were put into bat in difficult conditions and had to work hard for their total of 157-7 against some disciplined Chippenham bowling, Jake Tillyer top scoring with 35.

Goatacre also bowled well during Chippenham’s reply but were made to pay for dropping opener Steve Silk on four occasions as he proved the difference between the sides as his unbeaten 70 saw his team home with five overs to spare.

Division Five

NATIONWIDE House 2nd clung on for a one-wicket success over Beckington 2nd.

Damian Parker’s 76 not out helped the hosts post 207-4 from their 45 overs, and while 4-39 from Simon Atwell helped Beckington have House at 149-9, David Coates’ unbeaten 114 saw hosts home off the final ball.

Blunsdon were unable to prevent Lambourn from stretching their lead at the top as they lost by 93 runs.

The leaders were restricted to 191-9 from their 45 overs, with Arul Ramasamy the pick of the attack with 4-47, but Blunsdon were bowled out for 98 with 61 balls to spare as Chris Aubrey took 5-11 from his 7.5 overs.

Division Six

BURBAGE and Easton Royal 3rd took full advantage of their Royal Wootton Bassett counterparts enforced inactivity to go top following an eight-wicket win over Hinton Charterhouse 2nd.

Nick Cranston’s 4-25 saw the hosts dismissed for 136 before Chris Amistead (69no) and Don Lohrenz (24no) guided Burbage home in the 21st over and the 23 points sent them 11 points clear of Bassett, who picked up eight points for their rained off game.

Division Seven

TROWBRIDGE 2nd replaced their Purton counterparts at the top of the table after beating them by 109 runs.

The visitors reached 251-4, with Ali Goddard top-scoring with 96 and Chris Dicker hitting 70.

Trowbridge then ripped out Purton in less than 27 overs for 142, with Luke Mitchell picking up 4-40, while Tayler Aitken top-scored for Purton with 47.

Division Eight

GRANT Savides provided the impetus for Beehive 2nd as they defeated Box 2nd by 107 runs.

The all-rounder struck a century as the hosts recorded 262-4, which also saw Ash Rendall score an unbeaten 102, before picking up 3-10 as Box were bowled out for 155, with Lee Hulbert taking 4-5.

Division Nine

IN THE only game to go ahead in the division, Wanborough 2nd made light work of Burbage 4th in their 10-wicket success.

The hosts were skittled for 113 in 30 overs before Gonsalves (82no) and Mark Baldwin (21no) saw Wanborough home in 24 overs.
