HIGH-QUALITY cricket coaching is again being offered to local secondary school youngsters in Years 7-10 in mid Wiltshire.
Ten-week courses for boys and girls start next week at Dauntsey’s School Sports Hall in West Lavington.
The sessions are sponsored by the MCC Foundation (MCCF), the charitable arm of the organisation based at Lord’s.
One of the first six pilot schemes started in 2011, the Mid Wiltshire MCCF Cricket Hub is now one of 29 similar hubs operating nationwide.
Places are still available for 10 regular weekly 90-minute sessions of advanced coaching which take place every Monday evening from now until the Easter schools’ break in March.
MCCF has been running these courses for the last four years after initiating a successful partnership between Dauntsey’s School, in West Lavington, and Potterne CC.
Sessions start at 5.30pm every Monday for Years 7-8, at U13 level, followed at 7pm by an U15 session, mainly for Years 9-10.
Coaching is organised through Potterne CC, with qualified (at least Level Two) coaches, including current Wiltshire county players.
Email to Graham Gaiger, Potterne CC’s Cricket Development Officer, (graham@gaigerbros.co.uk), to seek a registration form.
