A CENTURY from Sam Loud saw Corsham crushed by 94 runs when they travelled to Taunton Deane in Premier One 2nd XI.

Alongside Jack Fraser (92), Loud (120) shared a stand of 209 as Taunton posted 278-5 off 42 overs.

Liam Sumsion tried to lead a reply as he hit 71 but struggled to get any support.

Mark Hick (48) was the only other batsman to make a score of significance as Corsham were dismissed for 184.

Ollie Smith scored an unbeaten 97 as Potterne claimed a narrow two-run win at home to Winterbourne in Premier Two 2nd XI.

Jordan Rose also made 97 as the home side posted 287-8.

Mark Frost (90) ensured the Winterbourne run chase was a thrilling affair but the heroics of Milan Perrera (3-26) for Potterne saw the reply come up just short on 285 all out.

Goatace were unable to chase down a modest Old Bristolians Westbury total as they were beaten by 17 runs.

Having restricted the home side to 143 first up, the Goats were skittled for just 126 in reply.

Steve Silk scored a sublime century to keep Chippenham in the hunt for the Glos/Wilts 2nd XI title as they claimed a 34-run win at home to Dumbleton.

Silk’s 112 was the backbone of Chippenham’s 267-6, while Craig Fry and Dan Pettit helped bowl Dumbleton out for 233.

Marlborough came off second-best when they hosted Gloucester City Winget as they lost by four wickets.

Josh Bates’ 66 helped Marlborough post 174-9 but the visitors chased that down in the 40th over of their reply.

In the Wiltshire Division 2nd XI, Burbage & Easton Royal were triumphant against local rivals Great Bedwyn, while there was also a victory for Calne over Lechlade.

Devizes, Marshfield and Malmesbury all suffered defeats to Purton, Trowbridge and Westbury respectively.
