WILTSHIRE will be looking to save their latest Unicorns Championship Western Division clash today after being stunned by a Cornwall comeback on day two.
Resuming on 23-0 in reply to the home side’s 246 all out in the first innings, Wiltshire openers Ed Kilbee (62) and Uzi Qureshi (64) made serene progress at Grampound Road.
The duo shared a fluent stand of 131 before Quereshi became the first man to fall to Brad Wadlan.
But from there things totally fell apart, with Wadlan (6-71) ripping through the visiting line-up as they crashed to 198 all out, a first-innings deficit of 48.
Captain Michael Coles (35) was the only other player to make a meaningful impact on the scorecard as seven Wiltshire batsmen were dismissed in single figures.
Cornwall were swiftly back on the front foot in their second innings, with a fabulous century from Matt Rowe (104) helping them to 209-4 at stumps, a lead of 257.
Play will resume at 11am this morning.
