LUKE Curtis’ half-century helped Corsham to a narrow four-run win over Swindon in Premier One 2nd XI.

Number five Curtis made 51 and, helped by Mark Hick (45), saw Corsham post 202-6 from their 45 overs despite the efforts of Harry Chevis (3-35) with the ball.

Jonathan Parker (3-36) and Ned Jones (3-39) helped keep the Swindon reply in check and they could only finish on 198 by the time their 45 overs had been completed.

Sam Parish hit 104 as Goatacre beat Winterbourne by six runs in Premier Two 2nd XI.

The Goats posted 243-8 and then bowled Winterbourne out for 237.

A score of 252-9 was not enough for Potterne as they fell to a five-wicket defeat to Weston-super-Mare.

Sam Gaiger (69), Jordan Rose (56) and Josh Hodder (53) all made good scores for Potterne but Weston were able to chase down the target for the loss of five wickets.

Mike Selmes made 141 as Warminster beat Taunton St Andrews by 46 runs.

Shah Farhaz also hit 81* to help Warminster post 286-4 and Alex McDonald then claimed 3-36 to halt the Taunton reply at 240-9.

Matt Coles and R Merryweather took three wickets each as Chippenham were eight-run winners over Gloucester City Winget in Glos/Wilts Division 2nd XI.

Jake Pettit’s 87 helped Chippenham to 223-9 and Gloucester were then dismissed for 215.

Winsley were handed a eight-wicket defeat by Hatherley & Reddings, for who Dave Stokes hit 116 not out.

Batting first, Winsley’s 177-9 was easily chased down by Hatherley for the loss of just two wickets.

Ben Lambert’s 105 helped Marlborough beat Chipping Sodbury by seven wickets.

Chipping Sodbury posted 227-7 but Lambert’s efforts saw that easily chased down.

In the Wiltshire Division 2nd XI, Devizes were 94-run winners over Calne, Malmesbury were beaten by 88 runs by Lechlade, Burbage & Easton edged to a two-wicket win over Marshfield Trowbridge trounced Purton by 238 runs and Westbury & District saw off Great Bedwyn by 124 runs.
