WILTSHIRE were forced to settle for a single point last weekend after their trip to Cornwall in the Unicorns Knockout Trophy was abandoned.

Cornwall won the toss and put Wiltshire into bat, with rain forecast in the early afternoon.

The county made a good start, with Tom Morton being particularly aggressive with two sixes in his run-a-ball 26.

Luke De Souza, on debut, batting at number three, made 43 as Wiltshire reached 91 for 2 off 22 overs.

Then, once again, they found life difficult against the spinners, Brad Wadland 2-12 and Christian Purchase 2-40, with two run-outs and two wickets for Glyn Furnival, they were all out for a disappointing 140 in 38 overs.

Cornwall started their innings and after 6.2 overs had reached 25 without loss when the rain arrived.

After several attempts to start again, the match was abandoned as a no result as 10 overs is the minimum required to constitute a game.

Wiltshire's last group match in the trophy is on Sunday May 17th against Devon - last year's trophy winners - at Warminster, starting at 11.00am.

Wiltshire must win this match if they are to have any chance of progressing to the quarter-finals and will also need the results on the next two Sundays to go in their favour.
