WILTSHIRE needed 251 to claim the Minor Counties Championship for the first time in 105 years after mopping up the remainder of Eastern Division champions Staffordshire's second innings this morning.

Day three of the Championship decider at South Wilts CC saw the visitors restarting their second innings at 242-7 - a lead of 238.

But the home side removed the final three batsmen for the loss of just 12 runs, Potterne's Jake Roberts ending with 3-43 and Tahir Afridi 3-44.

That set Western Division champions Wiltshire 251 to claim the title they last won in 1909, with still the majority of the day and a scheduled day four tomorrow to go.
