POTTERNE have announced the signing of former Gloucestershire ace Ed Young ahead of their Wadworth 6X West of England Premier Two campaign next summer.
The villagers, who were dramatically promoted as champions from the Glos/Wilts Division earlier this year, have secured the former first-class man for the 2014 season.
A club statement said: "Ed has been a first-class cricketer for Gloucestershire for several years until his release this autumn and should be an excellent acquisition for the club.
"He will also undertake some coaching duties with our juniors.''
Young, who bats right-handed but bowls left-arm spin, signed for Gloucestershire during the 2010 season after impressing for Oxford University, for whom he made his first-class début against Worcestershire in 2009.
He scored 471 runs in 10 innings for the county, including 133 as captain against Lancashire in 2011 and was something of a one-day specialist for Gloucestershire before later emerging in the four-day game, boasting a first-class batting average of 33.84 and taking 15 first-class wickets.
