GOATACRE cricket coach Jon Haines was recognised for his services to grass roots cricket at the deciding fifth one-day international bestween England and Australia at the Ageas Bowl on Monday.
Haines attended as part of the Sky Sports ECB Coach Education programme, having been instrumental in establishing links between the Goatacre and Spye Park clubs, helping to set up U9, 11, 13 and 15 age group coaching and girls’ teams at U11 and 13 level.
He has also coached at U15 and U13 county level and managed tours of South Africa and Dubai, with Wiltshire Academy.
Haines said: “It is fantastic to be recognised, completely unexpected.”
