UNFORTUNATELY, our Twenty20 quarter-final against Lancashire will have already happened (Wednesday night) by the time you read this – but hopefully we’ll be through to the semi-finals.

We’ve always done well in the big knockout stage games recently and it’s definitely going to have been a really tough game but hopefully, we’ve won it.

We drew against Glamorgan in the County Championship earlier this week and that was a little bit disappointing because we know that we need to pick up wins.

The wicket was difficult to play on during the first day, even though it did flatten out a little bit after the first 30 overs.

Glamorgan played very well though and in the end we got ten points from drawing, which wasn’t too bad.

We’re 40 points behind second place and we’ve still got to play Northamptonshire – that’s obviously a must-win game.

We’ve got to keep going as long as we’ve got that small chance of getting promotion but we also know that we’ve got to start winning games.

We may even have to try and win every game from now until the end of the season.

It can be difficult playing four-day games inbetween all of the other competitions but that’s what we’re used to because we’ve done well in one-day cricket in the last few years.

We were busy playing ourselves over the weekend so I didn’t really get the chance to see any of the Ashes.

England have retained them with two Tests still left to play, which is great, but I’m not sure that they’ll win the series 4-0.

Australia fought back a bit by batting really well at Old Trafford – but at the same time, Durham is always a really tough place to go.

I think that the Australian batsmen might struggle with how the ball spins and seams up there.
