Box Rovers lost for the first time this season and their 5-2 defeat at the hands of Biddestone Social moved the victors up to second place in the standings.
Goalless draws are somewhat of a rarity in Sunday League football but Clive Black's White Horse side won't find out until the end of the season what damage their second goalless encounter in as many weeks has done to their hopes of promotion.
Cooper Avon's 5-0 success over local rivals Pig & Whistle United at the Conigre, Melksham allowed them to re-establish a three point lead over second placed Crown Cosmos.
Robson Taylor, Chippenham League Premier division leaders Biddestone Social and second placed Corsham Centre A continue to match each other blow for blow.
DIVISION TWO:
All three of the leading teams in Division Two missed out on a game at the weekend, pacesetters Cooper Avon who had a free weekend remain top of the pile, but their closest rivals are now Crown Cosmos after they beat Bremhill View Social Club to leapfrog both White Hart Combe and Hullavington. Trevor Rawlings, manager of Combe who were in third spot prior to start of play had switched their game against Chippenham Police from Stanley Park to Yatton Kennell to help out Steve Mallard's Audley FC side but his kind gesture backfired as Audley were able to play their game while Yatton Kennell was under water. Hullavington who were hoping to beat Pig & Whistle United at Awdry Avenue, in Melksham and set a new club record of eight successive victories but they missed out on their chance when United called off the match due to a waterlogged pitch.
KNOCKOUT CUP SEMI-FINAL:
Westbury Rangers A have kept alive their hopes of ending their 35 year wait to lift the press to print sponsored Eric Hughes Memorial Knockout Cup after they defeated premier division rivals Dog & Fox Ashley to set up a meeting with second division Crown Cosmos at Chippenham Town's Hardenhuish Park on Sunday April 20.
WG PARR TROPHY CUP SEMI-FINALS:
With the weather causing huge disruption to the fixture programme of the Robson Taylor, Chippenham Sunday League it was no surprise that the Westernsport Trophies sponsored WG Parr Trophy semi-final matches were also hit.
KNOCKOUT CUP SEMI-FINAL:
A crowd of around 100 watched a keenly contested press to print sponsored Eric Hughes Knockout Cup Semi-Final between Devizes based sides AFC Bell of Division Three and last season's runners-up, Crown Cosmos, at a blustery Jubilee Fields in Bromham.
