Halliday backs Bluebirds for the play-offs

Kevin Halliday believes Chippenham Town fans should put their money on the Bluebirds - despite the bookmakers ranking them as outsiders.

Bookies William Hill have made the Hardenhuish Park outfit 3/1 outsiders to win the Southern League Premier Division play-offs while Skybet make them 11/4 third favourites.

Halesowen are William Hill's favourites for the play-offs at evens but Skybet have Team Bath at 6/4.

Fifth placed Bashley are at 2/1 and 4/1 with William Hill and Skybet respectively.

"If I was a punter, we are definitely worth a bit of money," said Halliday, ahead of the play-off trip to Halesowen on Tuesday.

"We have been the better side against Halesowen and we get up for the big occasions.

"They have got players on big money and the odds reflect that but the play-offs are one-off games."

The 24-year-old even had a £10 flutter on the Bluebirds securing promotion when they were at 16-1 in August but his team mates failed to heed his advice.

"I told them all at the start of the season and said we should put all the kitty on us going up but they didn't fancy it," he joked.
