FOOTBALL: Cinderford Town 3 Chippenham Town 1

BLUEBIRDS player-boss Nathan Rudge was sent off as Chippenham Town's unbeaten record in pre-season came to an end in the Forest of Dean.

The visitors made a fine start and went ahead on 17 minutes when Luke Ballinger's cross was met by Dave Gilroy who found the net.

But the match changed as Sommers levelled from a Dale Evans free kick just before the half hour.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men when Rudge was dismissed for an elbow on the home side's Lewis Sommers, Lee Smith stepping up to dispatch the subsequent penalty.

Ballinger went close in the second period but, facing the extra man, Chippenham conceded a third when substitute Matt Barnes fired home.
