Chippenham Town's Greg Tindle suffered a hairline fracture to his eye socket and required 25 stitches after clashing heads with a fellow trialist during Hereford United's friendly with Evesham United last night.

The 23-year-old defender clashed heads with fellow Bulls hopeful Chris Carruthers midway through the second half and the match was abandoned with both players needing hospital treatment.

Tindle announced his intention to try and earn a deal at a Conference club earlier this summer but his link-up with United, who were relegated from League Two last season, looks to have been thrown into doubt by the unfortunate injury.
