Hopefully we will be the second Chippenham team going up

I'D LIKE to start this week by congratulating Chippenham Rugby Club for their promotion on Saturday.

It is a fantastic achievement for them to get promoted back to South West One at the first attempt.

It's great for the whole club but a special mention must go to their coach Rob Alford, who I know well, and the rest of the management team.

Obviously I don't get to go to the games but I see a lot of the players down the gym and we always speak about each other's results.

You never know, in a couple of weeks, we could have two teams from Chippenham celebrating promotion.

But, in order to achieve that, we have to keep on pushing and the players certainly put in the effort in our extra training session on Saturday.

We went to the Olympiad, and I'd like to thank them for letting us come down, and a few of the lads had to take five minutes out to go and throw up.

We all did it, myself, Tommy and Gary and it was a hard session - flat out on the bikes for 50 minutes.

It is this work ethic which has got us to where we are.

We go to bottom of the table, and already relegated, Cheshunt on Saturday knowing a win will get us into the play-offs.

After Gloucester's 4-0 win over Cheshunt on Tuesday, Gloucester are still in the play-off hunt and King's Lynn's 5-0 demolition of Bashley means they are only two points adrift of fifth spot.

Lynn's win shows their big players step up to the big occasions.

If they overcome Gloucester on Saturday the title will be in their hands as they will be two points clear, and five points clear if Team Bath lose.

We know Gloucester will also have their tails up, meaning we have to cement our place on Saturday.

But Cheshunt will not just roll over.

They beat Bromsgrove a couple of weeks ago and were 1-0 up at Clevedon on Saturday.

It was only a lack of discipline and bad luck which saw them lose 2-1.

The have a big strong side with players playing for their futures and I am sure the manager will also be looking at which ones he wants to keep and let go.

It's a massive game for us but the boys won't be affected by any pressure.

Everyone said Gloucester at home was a big game and we proved ourselves.

A couple of weeks ago at Hemel was also a huge one and the lads proved their worth.

It is just another game which we have to overcome.

We have worked hard over the season, come unstuck a couple of times, but there is no more added pressure now than there was three weeks ago.
