Adie Mings Column
Hopefully we will have a new player on board for Merthyr
We are going to have to keep going because March has been, and will be, an interesting month.
A lot of football has been played and any team who starts to slip up will easily fall away from the pack.
You can go down to Hemel and Brackley in seventh and eighth for teams still in with a chance of the play-offs.
It is got a lot tighter than it was two weeks ago, which is why I'm not willing to predict what is going to happen around us.
We will worry about what we are doing and look to stay in good form and consolidate our play-off place. We play Gloucester on Easter Monday and then Brackley the following week so we can have a massive bearing on what happens.
The 1-0 win at Bedford on Saturday means we are in a great position.
It was a difficult game but, looking at results in previous years, I don't think we have beaten them at The Eyrie before.
They have always had a vocal crowd and had won three out of their last five before we came along and Sean Seavill scored the late winner.
We created 12 chances in the first half and then six in the second so it was just a case of plugging away. We have got that never-say-die attitude and they never know when they are beaten.
The position we are in is a testament to the players we have at the club.
It is a new position for me because last season we were chasing the play-off places, now we are in the leading pack.
We will only get stronger as well because we welcome back David Pratt for Friday's trip to Merthyr.
His three game suspension has probably worked out well for him because I felt he was looking a little jaded before.
So to have a fresh David Pratt ready for the run-in is great. Aaron Cornwall also returns for Monday's game at home to Gloucester.
But they are not guaranteed to come straight back into the side, nobody is.
We are still looking at adding a couple of players, but all the top sides are looking to improve their squad.
I won't be bringing anyone in for the sake of it though.
They will be as good or better than the current squad.
Hopefully we will have one on board by the time we travel to Merthyr on Good Friday.
It would be nice to get another win there after we won in 1-0 when I was in caretaker charge last season.
But we are not going to get caught up in the atmosphere.
We know how difficult it is going to be after playing them just last week and it is going to be even harder because they are a very tough team at
home.
