Adie Mings Column
We must keep working hard to maintain our good form
A lot of people may say we are through the sticky patch but you can never say never.
A couple of weeks ago it was all doom and gloom but after nine goals in two games people aren't saying that.
We know we still have a lot of work to do and are far from the finished article because we have a group of very young individuals who are learning their trade.
But we are doing well, especially, with five clean sheets on the bounce.
We hadn't been particularly solid before so the coaching staff have been looking at different aspects of play and areas where we can improve.
We are not giving sides as many opportunities to score as we did before and the defence seem to have got a much better understanding.
That goes for the attackers as well, although we will miss Aaron Cornwall for the next month through suspension.
It is a big blow to lose Aaron but I don't think it will diminish our attacking threat because we will still create chances.
We lose Aaron but Jake Reid, Dale Peckham and Luke Hopper are all due to return from their respective loans soon.
Jake has done really well at Mangotsfield and worked very hard from the reports I havehad. I've been told he has been unlucky not to score.
Dale Peckham has slotted in really well back at Paulton and I have been to see him a couple of times.
Luke Hopper has scored a couple of goals for Cinderford and Tommy went to watched him last night against Romulus.
They all still have a future with us because we signed them at the start of the season and they are part of the squad we put together.
But there is competition for places everywhere.
With the way Scott Lye and Kye Holly played against Yate on Saturday it is going to be difficult for Mark Badman or Iain Harvey to get back into the side.
And with the way Ross Adams and Matthew McEntegart are playing
it will be difficult
for Kes Metitiri to reclaim his place.
The front two of Sean Seavill and David Pratt are doing well so it will be hard for anyone to dislodge them either.
Sean and Pratty are very good at what they do. David is improving all the time, while Sean is returning at the right time and is looking to be the player he was before he got injured in October.
Sean is an exceptional footballer when he's fit and we are lucky to have him here.
