Adie Mings Column
We won't let our players go on the cheap like we did with Constable

PEOPLE at work are calling me Adie Allardyce for some reason but, even though we haven't won in four games, there is no need to panic.

We never stop believing and the lads may had had an indifferent start to 2008 but they keep going and I am telling you now, when they find their form, they will be a force.

The fact is we are still in the top five and nobody is running away with the league. Anyone who strings four or five wins together is in with a chance.

But any side who makes a late run are going to be the ones in the groove and March and April is when we will see things really pan out.

People are making too much of our winless run, the fact we hadn't scored, before Tuesday, and haven't won in 2008 and this, that and the other.

But I felt the 2-2 draw with Bromsgrove Rovers on Tuesday was a point gained and a good performance.

We were all pleased the game was on and it was a case of the referee holding his nerve and the ground staff doing really well.

It was a poor first goal to concede as we started slowly and failed to adapt to the conditions, which were a leveller.

To be fair to their bench they said if it had been a better pitch they felt they would have been in a lot more trouble.

I wasn't surprised we got the second equaliser as the lads kept on creating the chances even when we were down to ten men.

It is ironic that, when I watched Aaron Cornwall last season, he came on and scored two identical goals for Mangotsfield when they were 4-1 down.

It was a case of harnessing ability and playing him a little further forward and it paid dividends.

Kevin Halliday's sending off was just poor discipline. There was no need to make those kind of challenges and it puts your teammates in the position where they have to battle a little bit more.

I feel, if it was 11 against 11, we would have won the game comfortably as we could have injected our impact players better.

But we had to change our shape and system to 3-4-2 and it left us exposed at the back.

I also feel a few players would have impressed the watching scouts tonight.

Bournemouth were down and there was also a couple of others, including a Championship club.

Aaron Cornwall has been watched before and Luke Gullick, Scott Lye, Kevin Halliday and Sean Seavill have done very well this season.

There are four or five players who can play higher, so whoever they are watching, I am pleased for them that they are attracting good attention.

They are at the right age so they can still develop and can progress so we will have to wait and see.

The clubs are looking for a certain type of player and a few of them here fit the bill but I am sure, if I asked for X amount the club would not have any problems.

We won't be letting them go cheaply like we did with Mr Constable.
