Three players will return for Halesowen game

I’d like to start the column by thanking the supporters for their response in the Bedford game last week.

It was the first time I’ve seen a side come here and not try to win the game and it was difficult for us at times but the fans never stopped encouraging us and it made a difference.

I was also pleased for Scotty Lye for getting a goal.

We’re always having banter in training about how he doesn’t shoot enough so hopefully he can go on from here and add a few more to his tally.

We’ve won two in a row and people tell me that we were in the top five after the weekend but I’m still not looking at the league table just yet.

It’s too early for that at the moment and I’ll start possibly at the end of March but what we have done lately is put ourselves back in the hunt.

At the same time though it will count for nothing if we don’t do ourselves justice at Halesowen this weekend.

We haven’t got a great record there in recent years and our last visit was the play-off semi-final defeat so we know how tough it is and how intimidating it can be.

However I don’t think that will provide an extra mental barrier to overcome as we went to Cambridge City, who had only lost two at home all season, and won there.

We also beat Halesowen at Hardenhuish Park earlier in the season so we know it can be done again if we apply ourselves properly.

I’ve said it before but I trust and believe in these players and if they take on board the information we will get something out of the game.

Iain Harvey and Ross Adams didn’t train on Tuesday but Luke Gullick is back in contention and we’ll welcome Kye Holly and Kev Halliday back from suspension.

Luke Bryan and Jake Gardener have also shaken off knocks as well.

It’s all falling into place in that sense and we’ll need everyone available over the next few weeks as we have another tough game at home on Tuesday against Hemel Hempstead Town.

They’ve got a new manager and he’s won his first two games in charge but I hope we’ll have a big crowd for that one. If we can get a result against both sides it will be a massive boost.
