CLARRIE Dunbar’s fine unbeaten run in national team competitions so far this season was extended last weekend with another victory in the Egham Trophy, top mixed inter-club championship, writes DAVE EATON.

They followed up a preliminary round 80-39 demolition of Bristol two weeks ago by thumping fellow Somerset side St Andrews (Weston-super-Mare) 80-44 in a first round tie.

Dunbar took the honours in all four games, the two home rinks at Standerwick winning by 14-shot margins.

In the next round, round two of the Egham Trophy, Clarrie who reached last season’s semi-finals, have been drawn against fellow Somerset side Clevedon who they knocked out of the Top Club competition 11 days ago. The two sides will meet on Sunday, November 13, two rinks home and two away in Clevedon.

CHRISTIE Miller men face another derby game in the Denny Cup on Saturday when they play local rivals Clarrie Dunbar.

They make one change to the side that won a first round derby tie against North Wilts (Chippenham) 78-63 a fortnight ago and will again field a full rink comprising members of the Moore family, brothers Steve, Andy, Chris and Chris’ son Jordan.

The one change is in Tom Newman’s rink where Adam Bolwell comes in at two with Adrian Bolwell moving down to three to replace the unavailable John Crowder.
