WILTSHIRE Ladies gained ample revenge for last year’s defeat as they won this year’s annual showdown against the county men at Supermarine, the home green of men’s president Richard Gardiner.

The ladies were always in control, finally winning by 27 shots (130-103) and taking the honours on three of the six rinks.

Senior vice president Pat Jones (Supermarine) led the way, skipping her rink to a 21-shot success.

Sue Ochyra (Devizes) led her foursome to a 19-shot win, while Laura Latham’s quartet won by five.

Margaret Annetts shared the spoils in her battle with husband Graham, whose rink included president Gardiner.

They went out on shots difference only, after drawing 2-2 on disciplines with holders Egham (Surrey) who went on to retain their crown.

Box won the pairs and fours, but lost in the singles and triples and went down on aggregate shots by nine.
