MATT DANIELL, from the Wootton Bassett club, was a member of Wiltshire U25s' highest winning rink that retained the Four Counties Festival Tournament title at Westlecot on Bank Holiday Monday.

His rink of lead Adam Bolwell (Holt), Craig Morphet (Westlecot), skip Nick Revell (Amesbury) and himself beat Somerset by 17 shots.

Wiltshire won on two of their three rinks to score four points and beat Worcestershire on a better shots difference of +22 to +13 to retain the title that they won at the first attempt last year at Keynsham.

CHIPPENHAM Town Bowls Club are one of the oldest clubs in Wiltshire and celebrated their centenary three years ago.

They are also one of the most successful clubs in county competitions over the years and boast one of the best greens in Wiltshire.

Like all clubs at this time of the year they are seeking to increase their membership and will be holding an Open Day on Saturday, May 9 from 10am-4pm.

Anyone, whether they have bowled before or not, is welcome to come along on the day and give the sport of bowls a try. Coaching and help will be readily available from the fully qualified coaching team.

The Chippenham club will supply all equipment, all visitors need to bring along is a pair of flat soled shoes.

The club will also be offering four free ‘taster’ sessions with coaching for any new bowlers.

NORTH WILTS Bowls Club are holding an Open Evening on Tuesday May 19 starting at 6pm, to be followed up by four coaching sessions on Mondays on June 1 (6pm).
