SWINDON TOWN: Ward urges teammates to get a new 'groove' at home

Swindon Town's Darren Ward
DARREN Ward has urged his Swindon Town teammates to pull themselves out of the “groove” they are stuck in at the County Ground.
Town have won just one of their last five home matches in the league, following the draw with Scunthorpe on Saturday, keeping just one clean sheet in the process.
That is in stark contrast to the Robins’ record in League Two last season, which included just one home defeat all term.
And Ward has stressed the need for Swindon to do whatever they have to to get back to winning ways in Wiltshire.
“Sometimes you get in a bit of a groove and you’ve got to work that bit harder or change a few bits to get out of it and into the winning groove,” he said.
“We’ve got to practice and get back to the drawing board.
“We’re quite disappointed we didn’t get the win. We had a man sent off but we had our chances.
“It was one of those games but we’ve got to build and move on to the next game.
“It’s a bit disappointing for himself. He’s very disappointed and he feels as though he’s let the team down but it’s about 11 players. The rest of the team put in a shift. I’m quite disappointed we didn’t get a win.
“I still think we can do better. We know we can. We’ve got to put it right.
“You’ve always got to be careful. They switched the ball quite well and tried to get in behind from wide areas. It was a disappointing goal to give away but players are moving around in different positions and we didn’t lose, so that’s the main thing.
“I had a chance which I should have scored which I’m angry about and that’s why I’m not looking very happy.
“It’s disappointing. I tried to place it and was probably trying to be too precise.”
