CHIPPENHAM TOWN: 'So many positives', says Thompson

CONOR Thompson was gutted that his last hurrah at Chippenham Town ended in disappointment in the FA Cup last weekend.

The teenage keeper returned to the Bluebirds on work experience terms after signing for Torquay United earlier this month but was unable to help his side overcome his former club Gloucester City.

Despite a heart-breaking loss, Thompson thought that there were plenty of positives for Chippenham to take out of their meeting with the Conference North Tigers.

“It was really gutting. I don’t really think that they created that much and I didn’t have much to do in the whole game,” he said.

“They tried to fly in the set-pieces and we dealt with everything – it was a good performance from the boys and they’ve got to take that into the Trophy next week and really kick on now.

“We’re obviously gutted after the game but there are so many positives to take it’s unreal.

“Everyone did themselves justice.”
