RUGBY: Barnstaple 25 Chippenham 12
5:00pm Tuesday 16th October 2012 in Sport
CHIPPENHAM saw their five-match National Three South West winning streak ended in Devon.
With both sides playing expansive rugby in tricky conditions, the visitors took the lead when Jon Turner broke down the blind side to go over in the corner, fly-half Harry Taylor converting.
Barum hit back with a Josh Squire penalty on 25 minutes but Chippenham looked to be in control until just before half time when home flanker Winston James gathered a loose ball and ran in from 30 metres, Squire converting.
The home side were quickly out of the blocks after half time wing Linford Brock charging down a clearance kick to score.
Another Squire penalty increased their advantage before Brock’s second of the match took them out of sight.
Chippenham rung the changes for the final 20 minutes and hit back near the end when Sam Hill dived over.
