ALAN Navarro’s knee injury may well not be as bad as was first feared, according to winger Gary Roberts.

Navarro was stretchered off late in the 2-2 draw with Coventry on Saturday with his leg strapped up following a tackle in the Sky Blues’ penalty area, with some suggesting it could be a repeat of the cruciate ligament problem that has plagued his career.

The former Brighton man revealed via his Twitter account on Saturday evening that he was set to fly to Italy to see a specialist.

He wrote: “Gr8 comeback 2day, shud of got the 3 pts in the end, gutted bout my knee, hopefully the scan will just show medial damage.

“Thanks 4 all ur good luck msgs, change of plan now, off 2 rome 2moz 2 c a specialist, let's hope its all good news #ciao.”

Navarro’s friend and teammate Roberts told the Advertiser on Saturday evening: “I’ve been to see him and I don’t think it’s as serious as we first thought. I spoke to him and he’s in better spirits than when he came off the pitch.

“Hopefully it’s not a cruciate ligament injury, which he’s had before, because he’s a massive player for us.

“You’ve seen today when he came on he’s a great player and he’s great to have around the squad.”

Wish him a speedy recovery, not doing too well with injuries but don't see Paolo recalling Risser as extra cover More likely to see Macca play in his role IMO.
