FOOTBALL: Taylor’s Vale have wits about them

LEWIS Taylor was delighted with his side’s display as they got back to winning ways with victory at Whitchurch United last weekend.

Ryan Banks rounded the keeper to put Vale ahead before Tom Ritchie struck home their second just before half-time.

“It was an excellent team performance full of character, work-rate and supporting each other,” said Taylor.

“It was chalk and cheese from last Wednesday’s game against Stockbridge (a 1-0 defeat) and it was great that Vale of Pewsey also won on the day too, which shows that we have a little bit of strength in depth.”

Pewsey are at home to Wiltshire League outfit Ludgershall Sports in the first round of the Wiltshire Senior Cup this weekend.
