RUGBY: Chippenham 37 Avonmouth 10

CHIPPENHAM ran in six tries to register their fifth victory of the season and keep pace with the National Three South West leaders.

Winless Avonmouth took the lead on 14 minutes when number eight Harry Hone touched down, fly-half Joe Wearne converting. But Chippenham hit back with a Harry Taylor penalty on 25 minutes.

Five minutes into the second half, Chippenham skipper Bobby Lyons was on hand to finish off a flowing move and Taylor converted.

Ten minutes later, scrum-half Lewis Surry danced through the defence for another try before replacement back Kam Vuadrey, who replaced Christian Novik, jinked through for his first try for Chippenham.

With man of the match full-back Sam Saunders prominent in all Chippenham’s attack play, Baptiste added a second score. before centre Rupert Crockett touched down and Taylor converted.
