RACING: Longchamp Glory for Hannon

RICHARD Hannon's Olympic Glory ensured a British success on the day and paid his new owner an immediate divided in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (Grand Criterium) at Longchamp.

In four previous starts, the two-year-old's sole defeat had come at the hands of ante-post 2000 Guineas favourite Dawn Approach in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Richard Hannon junior, assistant to his Everleigh-based father, said: "I'm delighted, he's done it very well. Sheikh Joaan (Bin Hamad Al Thani) bought him three weeks ago and he'll be very pleased.

"I'll have to speak to the racing manager. We'll sleep on it but that might be it for the year.

"I wouldn't rule the Breeders' Cup out completely and he has plenty of options for next year."
