Game on for Town's stars

SWINDON strikers Paul Benson and James Collins can now count themselves on a par with the likes of Lionel Messi after appearing on the front of the iconic FIFA football game.

The Robins duo, along with manager Paolo Di Canio, are pictured on the front cover of 20 limited edition FIFA 13 games which were yesterday on sale at the club shop in conjunction with sponsors EA Sports.

The game was released yesterday morning and all 20 copies were snapped up before the end of the day, much to the pleasure of Town chief executive Nick Watkins.

“The club is pleased to be working closely with EA Sports once again this season,” he said.

“The feedback from fans last season regarding the Swindon-branded FIFA covers was excellent and the response this year has been positive once again.”

Last year’s game sold more than three million copies, and the 2013 version is expected to beat that.

Meanwhile, Town youngsters Aaron Oakley and Louis Thompson have been called up to the Wales Under 19 squad for their upcoming UEFA Qualifiers. The duo will take on Sweden on October 10, Slovenia on October 12 and Russia on October 15, with all of the games played in Slovenia.
