PREDICTIONS LEAGUE: Swindon v Bournemouth

A much better feeling around the place as it seems that Swindon played to their truer selves on Tuesday…or at least for 80mins.
.
Sadly I missed it due to my travels for work but it sounded like the team I watched at Stoke for a large part of the match and hopefully a team we'll be seeing more often than not from now on.
.
Saturday sees a tricky match as Bournemouth are a bit of an unknown at the moment due to high level inconsistency of play, lots of money spent but not playing to their true worth!…that would have sounded familiar before Tuesday….although I fully believe that our true worth is far and away better than theirs.
.
Having drawn all four home games, Bournemouth are a bit of the draw specialists this season although away they have a 1-1-1 record a 5-3 loss at Sheff Utd but a 1-0 win at the then table topping Yeovil….not a game that is easy to predict at all. Our recent record against them is also draw strewn with 7 of the last 16 games ending all square…and our home record since 1995 is 3-3-2 so again not a lot in it.

There have only been two 0-0 draws in the history of games between them at the County Ground in the league and I'm hoping that we match the score of 1926 when Swindon ran out 8-2 winners…now that would grab the headlines, keep everyone happy….except Paolo as we'd have conceded two sloppy goals! :-) More recently we've won 4-1 and 4-2 in 2007 and 2006 respectively and I'd happily take either one of those on Saturday.

I'm just hoping that the same team turn up in the red shirts on Saturday as it is a joy to watch us in full flow and given that Williams has got off the mark the pressure cooker will release and we will, as we've been threatening, put 4 or 5 past someone very soon. Bournemouth home and Shrewsbury away sandwich the tasty treat of Burnley next Tuesday but it is essential we get a couple of good results before we all 4 of the bottom 4 back-to-back next month….4 more points in September then 12 points from those first 4 October games would cement our place in the top 3 for sure.

You'd think that when getting it wrong I could gain a place or two but nope - I even ended up lower than I should have been.....so far down I didn't even notice it.

Might have to miss the game tomorrow now....I'm not making the greatest of use of my season ticket as that's 2 home games missed out of 4 so far in the league - I even had a ticket for Brighton and missed it....am going to have to get to a few away games to make up for it now!
