RUGBY: Chippenham 2nd 44 Minety 0

MINETY coach Huw Jones saluted his side despite their eight-try defeat by early-season pacesetters Chippenham 2nd.

The home side proved too fast and skilful for the villagers, who nevertheless caused their rivals problems in the tight.

Jones said: ““If ever a scoreline reflected a game and at the same time didn't, this was it.

“Chippenham deserved their 44 points but Minety were worth many more points than we scored.”

Three tries made it 15-0 to the home side at half time, and a further five after the break completed their emphatic win.
