That's more great news. Am anxious for the League Cup draw. Had a previously planned trip to the UK between Sept 18 and Oct 2, so thought I would get to see three league games - sounds like it will be two plus (I hope if we're not up north) the cup. Then another trip in November and I hope two more games. Can't wait. Hammers or Spurs please!

What a brilliant signing. Towards the end of last season when his fitness improved,he was pure class. Only disappointment is it's only a loan deal - the better he plays - the less chance we have of an affordable permanent deal!!! I suspect John himself half expected this deal, so, I assume he will have been getting himself much fitter as he knows what The Don expects.......

Benson has been injured so two players for each place leaves just Williams and Collins so we are two short with only Storey or Di Vita as possible back ups. Great signing and with all the cups we could be in the squad needs to be big enough to cover.

No chance the situation was deemed irretrievable so looks like Caddis is off to Brum with striker Adam Rooney coming this way.

I was taking the pee as so many have questioned the signing of Ward
.
Think this is a great signing - I said we would loan him until Jan and then sign him perm back in June time
.
Granted he has signed a few months late - but has still come
.
Very very happy with Ward and Bostock - this is one heck of a squad now! Easily the best in L1 - and more could still come tonight/tomorrow!!!!

Pdc is covering all angles, what with suspensions/injuries etc plus squad rotaion he is puting together an interesting squad.
as for Burnley great it's a home draw and the Town have a chance of turning them over.
The Charlie Austin again who know's for sure the ins and outs why he left, doubt if we ever will.
So who else is coming in before the deadline????? all exciting stuff

Many horses for many courses, and I think PDC will shuffle the pack accordingly to who we are playing.
That way he will keep players fit, rested and challenging for a place, keeping the hunger just right.
Wilson needs to look out now, we will eat them alive.

With respect Wizard,

Danny Wilson will come back and haunt you one day and bite you on the arse! I just cannot wait!!

I still remember your pathetic licking up to Hart and what a total disaster he was.

Your constant and absolute abuse of Wilson under one of your other posting names of 'Glasred' on here was an absolute disgrace, I remember when you slagged off Wilson 15 times in less than 12 hours with your posts, answer that please Wizard.

Joey,

First and foremost, I am not Glas red, but I'll give you my opinion of Danny Wilson anyway.

I was actually referring more to his team than the man himself. As goes Danny, he did not stand up to his players and factions arose and we were relegated. His so called stars did not perform, and it seems neither did they want too. All of that led us undeniably to a season in League Two where PDC spent his time last year knocking the team back into shape.

If you read diCanio's book he talks about Wilson and has no good words for him, so perhaps if you have issues in that department you could take them up with him, as he has inside knowledge of Wilson and his workings. I did meet Danny and as a bloke he was pleasant and decent enough. As a player he was always competitive, just a shame that it didn't work here over the longer term as a manager.

As goes him, or anyone else wanting to bite my derrière, then fine, try it .

I'm away this weekend Joey, first thing tomorrow, so feel free to post a quick reply.

I'll let London take the credit for this but clearly I predicted we'd get him before him! This is the signing that wins us the league. People be very excited. Just offers something different. Expect us to buy him permanently in January.

An excellent end to the day. Very happy indeed. Take the 11/2 comrades, we won't be any longer now. Absolutely superb.

Back to back to back promotions coming. Watching the birth of a managerial legend. Isn't he already?!

I'd definitely go along with all of that. Bostock is THE icing on the cake.

If PDc works on his fitness, if that is needed, and he starts running at defences then he is another real handful, especially as someone else said, coming on as an impact sub. He has the ability to rattle defenders, and I'm sure he will.

I see Bullard has gone to Francise today.

Anyway, can't wait for the next home game.

And yes it didn't happen for Hart either which further underlines the fact that Wilson brought in a team that didn't care. Yes I backed hart, yes he failed, and yes, I'm not the first bloke, nor will I be the last to back a manger who eventually fails, plenty of Chairmen have also committed the same folly, so I take it that you will taking issue with them as well.

I see you have also adopted your usual time honoured trick by posting and then disappearing, so much the big man then, didn't stick around for the reply. Bye then.

Two very good signing IMO which add strength depth and most importantly competition for places in the team.

As an example, people have compared Troy and Aden with preferences for one or the other but IMO all Paolo has done is bring in very good competition. If a player wants to play in the current Town team they have to play well.

I have seen the competition for places bring out stunning performances from Da Vita, Ritchie, Ferry, Flint, Williams and Collins.

Goalkeeper needed possibly to Wes on his toes :-)

I won't get as carried away as some but the squad is looking very very good.

Great news to have Bostock back. Gives us a significant and different option, i.e. playing 4-3-3 when we consider two wingers to be a bit extravagant.

Wonder if we tried to buy him outright and what Tottenham's response to that was?

Cant see Rooney coming .But it would be a great signing if he did
bbc site says he is coming. He's down the pecking order as a striker at brum so hopefully he will sign as part of the caddis deal. I dont see bostock being played as a striker though I could be wrong.

two rooneys would be coool though!!

I think these signings signal our intent in both the league and cups this season. Cant really remember a season when this was ever the case before.

What about a back up keeper though?
