WOOTTON Bassett shrugged off the sending-off of goalkeeper James Domm to open their league campaign with victory at their local rivals.
Domm was shown red fo handling outside the penalty area midway through the first half, but Bassett brought Stewart Thompson off the bench wrapped up victory in the second half.
They took the lead on 52 minutes when the returning Steve Yeardley headed home.
Shaun Terry sealed the win with a quarter of an hour remaining with his first goal for two and a half years.
